Morganna Williams is Visting Me Today!!

Hi Everyone!

Today I have the fabulous Morganna Williams on my blog. She's here to answer some questions and then give us a juicy snippet from her latest book, His Girl, His Rules.

Let's start off with one of my favorite questions to ask authors, what's your writing process?
By the time I start actually putting the story down on paper most of it is in my head. The characters to change or enhance a scene from time to time but the general gist of the story stays the same.

Hmm...that's very similar to me. I have the big plot points floating around in my head and then when I finally get them down on paper, I'm just connecting the points to make a story. Who are some authors that influence you?
Cherise Sinclair, Kresley Cole, Stephen King, Dean Koontz, pretty much everyone I’ve ever read.

I always see that you write on your lunch breaks. Is this what helps you publish stories so fast?
I don’t really know but if I can get that solid hour every day to write it certainly helps move my story along.

I bet that would help get the story along. I also believe that if a person can write even for fifteen minutes a day, it'll make them write their stories much faster. When you write, do you have your characters pictured in your head or not?
Always, when I writing the book I have a little mini movie of the story running in my head.

What's one of the hardest parts about writing for you?
Trusting myself.

Oh, I understand that one very well. What do you do when you aren't writing?
I read a lot…in fact when I’m on a reading binge I find it hard to stop and write like I should. I also like spending time with friends and family and of course there’s always my everyday 9-5.

What's the next story that you will be working on?
In the next few weeks or so my new book Situational Shannon will be coming out. This is the working title which I’m sure will change. I’ve already finished my final edits and forwarded them to my editor. I also have another one started that I’m about 11,000 words in on. Max is my heroine in that and she’s a corker.

Wow! You really are a fast writer! Time for my favorite game...The Five Question Game!
What's your favorite food?

Hibachi surf and turf

I've never tried that, it sounds interesting. What did you want to be when you grew up?
A detective…which I sort of did for a little while as an investigator for the state.

That's so cool! Who would you want to play you if your life was turned in to a movie?
That’s a hard one…someone quirky and possibly a little odd with a sense of humor.

What's your favorite T.V show?
Blue Bloods, Person of Interest and Law and Order Criminal Intent. I also love reruns of Monk

Who's cuter: Eric Dane or Patrick Dempsey?
They’re both hot but I’m in McDreamy’s camp.

Thanks for answering those questions! Now it's time for that juicy snippet!

In this scene Glory is about to find out what happens when a girl runs out of Master Gabriel in the middle of a scene.
Glory barely had time to change into her favorite flannel gown and wash her face before the doorbell rang.

She frowned; who would come over to her house this late? Maybe Nat and Jess couldn’t wait until tomorrow to ask about her evening.

That had to be it! With a grin she swung the door open. “You couldn’t wait until tomorrow?”

The sight of Gabriel standing on her doorstep with a pair of lacy panties in his hand brought her hand to her throat in alarm.

“I certainly couldn’t, young lady,” he said firmly, herding her back into her hallway and pushing the door closed behind him. “In the future you’re not to answer the door without asking who it is and definitely not unless you’re dressed.”

Glory blinked up at him, still trying to process the fact that he was standing in her house at all, much less giving her instructions about stuff that wasn’t really his business.

“Am I understood?”

“Huh?” she asked as she licked suddenly dry lips.

“I asked if I was understood,” he explained helpfully.

“Understood about what? Why are you here?” Glory asked. “We finished, didn’t we?”

Gabriel quirked one eyebrow at her and folded his arms across his chest as he studied her, apparently prepared to wait her out.

She flushed and plucked at her gown anxiously. “I mean… we… well… I, er… I was kinda done and it was late… so…”

“Did I or did I not tell you to wait for me in my office?” he asked succinctly.

“Well… I… guess… sort of,” Glory finished lamely, still avoiding eye contact.

“Morning Glory Walters, I asked you a question and I expect an answer,” Gabriel said firmly.

She gulped, raising her flushed face to meet his stern gaze, “Oh, my gosh, did you just three-name me?”

“Glory.” He said her name warningly.

“Okay. Yes! I confess! You told me to wait and I left. I was kind of in a hurry so I…”

“You panicked and ran away,” Gabriel finished for her. “Our scene was not finished and you knew it.”

“I must have misunderstood,” she said rather lamely.

“Glory, you already have one punishment coming. Do you really want to add to it by lying to me?”

“P-punishment?” Glory began to back carefully down the hall away from the big dom. She felt very vulnerable standing there in just her nightgown without even a pair of panties underneath it.

Gabriel smiled and stalked slowly toward her, rolling up his sleeves as he advanced toward her retreating figure.

Glory’s eyes widened at his approach, then she turned in a blind panic to run and ran straight into a wall. Gabriel caught her, politely preventing her fall when she bounced off the wall backwards straight into his arms.

Oh no! I definitely wouldn't want to be in Glory's shoes right now!

His Girl, His Rules Blurb
Though Glory Walters writes erotic novels about firm-handed men who know how to deal with feisty women, she’s ashamed to admit she’s never experienced anything of the sort herself. But then she meets Gabriel—Sergeant Gabriel to the men he leads on the local SWAT team, but Master Gabriel to her—and suddenly the scenes in her books don’t seem so far-fetched anymore.

Gabriel has just been going through the motions in life since his wife’s death four years ago, but almost from the moment he sets eyes on her, he wants Glory as his own. Despite never having been taken in hand before, she responds beautifully to a good, hard, bare-bottom spanking, and his dominant lovemaking leaves her breathless. But when Glory foolishly puts herself in extreme danger, she soon discovers that naughty girls who take risks with their safety get their bottoms thoroughly punished… inside and out.

Publisher’s Note: His Girl, His Rules is an erotic novel that contains spankings, sexual scenes, anal play, elements of BDSM, and more. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

After that hot snippet and the blurb, I know that everyone who hasn't already bought this story is going to want to. So, here are the buy links for it!

The Moment That I've Dreaded, Finally Arrived!

Hey Everyone!

Gosh, it's been a long time since I've done a blog post! School has been hectic. Only six weeks and four days left!!

My Mother is visiting me this week because she wanted to come down and see me and she's also going to be my patient. :-) I was all set to have an enjoyable week with her and we will have one, but yesterday morning, we had a little conversation that nearly gave me a panic attack. Read our conversation and you'll understand why...

I had just finished putting the breakfast dishes in the dishwasher and go and sit back down at the table, where my Mom is finishing drinking her coffee.

Mom: "So, would it surprise you to know that I know your pen name and your publisher's name?"

Me: I started to get a sick feeling in my stomach, "What do you mean?"

Mom: "I know your pen name and your publisher's name. I had to sign on to your computer account at home and when I went to Facebook, your author email came up."

Me: "Okay. So that explains how you know my pen name, but how did you find out my publisher's name?" The sick feeling in my stomach started to get a lot stronger and it felt like my heart was beginning a race. I began to imagine my Mom going to SNP's website and seeing all the erotic books. I could only imagine what her expression must have been.

Mom: "No. I went to Amazon and looked up your books and saw your Publisher's name there."

Me: My stomach was really starting to hurt and it felt like my heart was ready to leap out of my chest. In the back of my head, I kept thinking that this must be how a panic attack felt. This was the moment that I had dreaded. So, I just sat there and nodded my head. My expression must have shown my panic because my Mother quickly clarified.

Mom: "Oh, I didn't read the blurbs or look anything else up. I just wanted to read all of the reviews. People really liked your stories."

Me: I still sat there, just nodding my head, waiting for the other shoe to drop. My heart still felt like it was trying to leap out of my chest.

Mom: "Meredith you know that I'm not a prude. I know that there's other stuff that people enjoy doing inside the bedroom besides what's in the Bible. If you're that ashamed of what you write, then maybe you shouldn't be writing it. Imagine if someone else found out."

Me: That knocked me out of my panic attack. "I..I'm not ashamed. I've told you before that I write kinky stuff. I just don't talk about it much or tell people because some people wouldn't approve of what I write and judge me because of it. I don't want to lose friends or have family members not talk to me just because they don't agree with what I write."

Mom: "I guess that's a smart idea. Dad probably wouldn't take this too well. What exactly do you mean by kinky? Like Fifty Shades of Grey stuff? I've never read those books, but I head that they're all about sex."

Me: "Yes. My books have BDSM scenes in them. I like writing about people getting tied up or using toys when they're in the bedroom." My hands were shaking under the table so bad when I said that.

Mom: "Well, I'm sure that other people are doing that too in the bedroom, but they're just too nervous to admit to it."

Me: "You're right. I'm sure that most of my friends that I would tell would be okay with my stories, but there would be some that wouldn't be and I don't want to be judged by what I write. That's why I didn't tell you what I wrote. I'm ready to get sick because I'm scared of what you think."

Mom: "I think it's fine. As long as everything that goes on in the bedroom is agreed upon and safe between two people and I don't have to see it or read about it, I'm okay with whatever people want to do."

Me: "Okay. That's good to know." Finally, my heart rate started to slow down, my stomach felt much better, and my hands stopped shaking.

Mom: "So, is that all that you write about in your books?"

Me: "No. I also sometimes write about domestic discipline relationships." My stomach started to hurt again.

Mom: "What's that?"

Me: "It's where there's a head of the household, who sets rules and the other person follows them. If the person doesn't, then they get punished with a spanking."

Mom: "So, the husband would spank the wife if she didn't do as he told her to?"

Me: "Yes. The husband and wife sit down and agree on a list of rules, and if the wife doesn't follow the rules, then she gets punished. The wife could also be the head of the household and the husband has to follow the rules. It depends on each relationship."

Mom: "Oh shit that would be bad. I could never do that." We both burst in to giggles at that. My Mom rarely swears and her face at my explanation was priceless. That helped break up more of the tension.

Me: Once we both settled down, I finished my explanation. "Yeah. Each couple is different, some like it, others don't. It's up to each couple."

Mom: "Do people really do this...spanking and stuff?"

Me: "Yeah. Heck, there are big spanking parties that people go to just to do this stuff for fun. If you want, I can show you some websites."

Mom: "No no. My heart can only take so much." I was so happy that she said that. I couldn't imagine showing my Mother those websites. My face would be redder than a ripe tomato.

Me: Since my Mom had found out about this much, I figured that it was time to put everything on the table. "That's okay. You should know then too, if you know my pen name if you haven't already figured it out, there are different types of BDSM like: medical play, age play, and others. My two books are about age play relationships."

Mom: "What's that?"

Me: "It's where one of the people in a relationship acts like the Mom and Dad and the other person gets to act a younger age. There's no real children involved or anything. It's just a way for people to relax."

Mom: "So, people act like children?"

Me: "Well, a person can regress to any age. That could be from a one year old to a twenty one year old if they wanted. It's up to the couple. My characters in my stories so far have regressed to young ages because when I found age play books, they made me sick because everything was forced. So, even though I wasn't in to some of the things I wrote about, especially in my first book, I wanted to show readers that if they wanted to do these activities like regress to an infant and wear diapers and drink from bottles, if done in a healthy relationship, it could be done in a way that both people in the relationship enjoyed."

Mom: "I see. And you're in to all of this stuff that you write about?"

Me: "Well, no. There is some stuff I like, but other stuff I don't like, yet I write about it because I know that other people like it and it would go good in my stories."

Mom: "Okay. You know again, I have no problem with what people decide to do behind closed doors as long as both people are okay with it and everything is safe."

Me: "I agree with you 100% Mom...you know, just because you know this now and that I like different things than what you may, that doesn't change anything. I'm still your youngest daughter, who loves yellow, hates green beans, and loves Scooby Doo."

Mom: "Well yeah. I've known about this for months now Mer. As much as I hate to say this, you're an adult now and I can't do anything to stop you or your sisters in what you guys chose to do. All I can do is hope that what I taught you growing up will help you make the right choices. Like I said before too, I don't care what people do behind closed doors as long as they're both okay with it. I just don't want to see or hear about it."

Me: "Alright."

Mom: "I promise to never tell anyone what your pen name is, even if they hold a gun up to my head."

Me: "Well, in that case, if someone holds a gun up to your head, you can tell them my pen name."

Mom: I got the "Mom" look. "You know what I mean Meredith. I won't tell anyone."

Me: "Thank you."

That was the end of that conversation. I never in a million years thought that my Mother was going to take what I wrote this well. I love my Mom to death, but growing up, I could see that her and I had very different thoughts on certain topics, what happens in the bedroom being one of them.

I was all set for her to tell me to contact my publishers and ask for my books to be taken down on Amazon because what I wrote was wrong. The sad thing is, I would have done it. Would I have been happy about it? No, I would have been crushed, but my Mom's my Mom and if my stories upset her that much, I wouldn't have been able to leave them up. I was also ready to have long conversations with her about where she would tell me I'd be going after death.

Instead of all that happening, my Mother supported me. Granted, she promised to never ever read my books or tell a single soul about what I write, and made me promise to never tell my family or friends until after I graduate, but she didn't get angry or disown me, how I thought that she was going to do. To me, that's pretty awesome. I am so happy that my Mom supports me and now knows everything. I hate keeping secrets from her.

The big thing that I learned from all of this is I don't think I'm ever going to know how people are going to react to what I write. I thought that my Mom would strongly disapprove of my stories, but she didn't. So far, I've only told her and my best friend really about what I write. They both took it really well. My oldest sister knows that I write about kinky stuff, but she doesn't know the extent of it. I've been so lucky that they've all taken it so well.

I never thought that when I sat down after breakfast yesterday my Mom would reveal the news that she did, but again, I'm so glad that she did. Now that everything is said and done, I have to figure out a kick ass Mother's Day present for her because after this talk alone, she deserves one!

Leigh Smith Comes to Visit!

Hi Everyone!

Today, I have Leigh Smith on my blog to talk about her latest book, The Cowboy Has Her Back! Leigh, it's great to have you visiting here today! Let's get this interview started!

What inspired you to write a cowboy story?
I have always been a sucker for cowboys and westerns. Probably a generational thing because when I was younger you couldn’t change a channel w/o finding a cowboy and they all looked pretty darn hot.

Cowboys are really hot! I feel like today, there really aren't any cowboy movies, I wish that T.V/movie producers would start making cowboy films again! What were the inspirations for your characters? (Any images or personality traits from other stories or people in real life?)
I usually always write a feisty, mouthy female. My husband says I’m always writing me.  The inspirations and characters sort of morph as the story unfolds in my head.

My favorite question to ask first time guests on my blog...What is your writing style?
By the seat of my pants.

Another pantster...awesome! What is the next story that you'll be working on?
Right now, I’m working on another western story, modern day, takes place in Oklahoma.

A modern day western...that sounds awesome! When you aren't writing, what do you do?
I’m an avid reader, love playing games, socializing with friends.

It's time for my favorite game...Five Question Game!
What is your favorite color?
Green

What is your favorite sub-genre of romance stories? (medical play, age play, supernatural, etc?)
Supernatural, westerns, real life stories

I love supernatural stories too! Who was your favorite Harry Potter character?
Never read any of the books (am I ostracized?)

You just broke my heart Leigh! LOL! Do you prefer chocolate milk or strawberry milk or plain old regular milk?
Chocolate but for calorie sake, I stick to plain ole 2%.

I love chocolate milk too! If you could have any superpower what would it be and why?
Just one, I want them all.  I guess if I had to pick just one, I would like to see into the future because I’d like to know what’s going to happen to this world of ours for my grandson’s sakes.

I never thought to have that superpower. It would be cool to see the future, but I think that would cause me to worry even more than I already do. Now, can we have a snippet from your book please?

Mickey told Hank to choose the spot.  He picked Rowdy’s Roadhouse, a restaurant on the outskirts of Williston and made famous by regular appearances of Rowdy’s Rangers, a Texas band now famous but discovered at the restaurant by an affluent patron.  Since then, whenever the band was on tour and in the approximate area, they made it a point todrop in and play a set or two. Rowdy’s was a popular place and there was quite a line  waiting for a table when they arrived. Luckily for them, many of the waiting patrons were large parties and they moved up the list quickly since there was just the two of them.

Mickey had pumped her sister for any information on Hank, but she didn’t learn much. Becky said he had only returned to Williston and let it go at that.  Apparently, the Circle C was one of the biggest and most successful ranches in the area.  In addition to cattle and horses, their holdings included vineyards and almond orchards.  Hank had a couple of brothers and a sister and both brothers worked on the ranch.  His sister married an attorney and moved to Washington DC.  His parents, were still involved in the running of the ranch but based on the gossip around town were gradually turning it over to their sons, Hank, Dave and Randy.

Hank and Mickey weren’t sitting at the table long before people started stopping by. All of them welcomed him home; and expressed their hope he stayed this time.  If people ever stopped coming by the table, she planned on finding out more about Hank Caldwell.  With his tousled sandy blonde hair, bronzed skin and bright blue eyes, fine lines crinkling the edges of his eyes and mouth, he was good looking enough to be an actor or model. He was a man comfortable in his own skin and used to being in command, and it showed. Dressed in dark blue jeans, sharply creased but soft looking and weathered, a checked long sleeved shirt and well-worn boots that were clean and polished, he was one handsome cowboy and she was sure he set many a heart aflutter, hers among them.  The steady stream of greeters slowed down and she was just about to ask him about himself when another couple plopped themselves down in the seat on the other side of their booth.

“What are you doing here, this is most unusual for you?” the man said to Hank. Mickey took a good look at Dave and could see a resemblance but Hank was the winner. “Mickey is taking me to dinner for saving her ass this afternoon.”

“Mickey, meet my brother Dave and this is his, ‘what are you Dani, his lover, friend, mistress, wife; what other labels might there be?’”

“No need for such sarcasm or meanness, Hank” she purred at him.

“I see not much has changed,” Dave said to Hank. Mickey was surprised that Dave took Hank’s disparaging remarks about Dani so well, she half expected fisticuffs to break out at any moment.

“Oh, a lot has changed.  She’s with you now and I only wish you the best of luck and hope to hell you never have to leave town, because we have one more brother.”

“That’s enough, Hank,” Dave told him.

“You came and sat down here, so if you don’t want to hear anymore, then I suggest you find yourself another table.”

Dave gave Dani a slight push out of the booth.  As they walked away, Mickey spoke to Hank.  “It’s none of my business, but I have to ask.  I can guess, but what the hell was that all about?”

‘You’re right Mickey,  I don’t mean to be rude, but I don’t want to ruin what’s left of the evening by hashing through things better left untouched. Maybe if we ever get to know each other better, I’ll explain.”

“Okay, but before they popped in, I wanted to ask what brought you back to Williston and what took you away in the first place.  If the two things are tied together, I’ll understand if you don’t want to go there.”

“They are and they aren’t.”

“I left because when I was in college I was recruited by Homeland Security.  My college major was criminal justice and after September 11th I was all gung ho to go out and protect my country.  When HS came on campus, they offered me a chance to use my education and satisfy my passion; I took them up on their offer.  So, to answer your question, I worked for Homeland Security.  I’m not active right now.”

“So are you back in Williston to stay?”

“I’m in Williston.  Life changes on a dime and in HS I learned to live one day at a time, that’s what I’m doing.  So enough about me, let’s talk about you.”

“Shall I start at birth and just go forward or is there a particular place you want me to start?”

“A smart mouth, I should have guessed from earlier today.  Start anywhere you like?”

“I told you earlier my sister Becky had twins and I came to help. Once the twins were on a regular schedule, I was beginning to feel underfoot but the holidays were on the horizon,  and she asked me to stay through them at least.  It didn’t take much convincing, spending the holidays with loved ones or alone. I find I’m ready for a change and want to be closer to family. Becky said the district is looking for teachers so I’ve decided to apply for a position. Back in San Diego, there are too many memories around every corner.  I’m a widow.  My husband was a Navy Seal that, believe it or not, was not killed in the line of duty but by a drunk driver. Barry returned from a mission and was on his way home when it happened.  They haven’t found the driver, and I doubt they ever will.  It occurred about 2:30 am, and no one has come forward with any information.  It’s been two years, so I don’t hold out any hope.  It doesn't matter though, it will not bring Barry back.  Anyway, it’s time for a change.  Becky is my only sibling so living close to her and my nieces makes this the logical place to settle.”

“So if you get the job, you’ll settle here in Williston, or at least in the area?”

“Teaching job or not, I’ll settle here.  With Barry’s pension, I don’t have any financial worries.  I still have loose ends in Southern California but nothing that will keep me there for long.”

“Good to know.”

If that didn't sell you, here's the blurb!

After her Navy SEAL husband is killed by a drunk driver, widowed Mikela ‘Mickey’ Chandler comes to stay with her brother-in-law and sister, Becky.  While out riding, her horse takes off at breakneck speed and Mickey loses her grip on one of the reins.  Fortunately, for her, local rancher Hank Caldwell is on hand to save the day…and the two embark on a passionate and stormy relationship.

It’s not long before Mickey falls head over heels in love with the tall, handsome rancher, but having been hurt in a previous relationship, Hank is guarded and cautious where his feelings are concerned.  There are other problems too, in that Hank is used to being in control while Mickey is an independent woman in charge of her life.  Their relationship teeters on the edge as the two fight for control.

Are they too stubborn and set in their ways to make things work, or will love find a way.
